TTTP3 Self repairing time

This theory assumes that events that are meant to happen are meant to happen therefore no one can change them. This is a very interesting theory and very easy to not believe. The theory assumes that the events in time are fixed. One can go back in time and change events as they wish but returning to their own time fixes everything. Example again would be a man going back in time and attempting to kill his father or mother before he had been born. This event would happen and all of the changes he made whist there would also seem real and happen. But when he leaves time would repair itself.

Think of this theory as a time has a memory of what has happened. Time Travellers have access to this memory and can go back to any moment and revisit it. Upon changing anything that would cause the future memories to change, time would repair itself upon the traveller leaving. This does bring upon a few holes and possibilities. Such as what if the traveller never left? Would time never repair? Would it even matter if it did not repair itself are changes automatically reflected in the future or is the traveller playing in a sandbox memory. What if the traveller used it for crime? Given that time would repair itself it is possible that the time traveller could go back and rob a bank bring the money to the future and the robbery would be fixed. It is also possible that the same time traveller could then go back a few hours and rob the money from his early self, hence when he returns the money would be doubled. These unanswered questions are what make this theory a little harder to believe.

We could also look into the possibility that the time traveller when he is travelling creates a copy of time. As talked about earlier this sandbox environment could play out possibilities much like the theory of multiple realities. This would allow a time traveller could go back and cause problems in the past only to not have them relayed in the future.

For this theory to work something must be recording everything or there must a fixed “faint”. If time was keeping record of anything that has been done much like our own human memory does. It could be time itself that is recording this or something else working in the universe. If the universe is a living object it could itself be recording it much like our own memory. Or if faint is real and everything is fixed. If everything is fixed and set then why would someone be able to seemly change stuff only for it fixes its self? Why would the changes not be set and meant to be much like the first theory.

This theory would allow the time traveller to visit the past but not change anything. This would mean police would not be able to go back and prevent crimes but would be able to go back and see the crimes happening. This theory would also explain Steven Hawking’s theory of the lack of tourists from the future, as once they had left time would fix itself therefore we would not remember or the changes they had made would not be seen.

The next theory TTTP4 Time Travel is unnoticeable, will use the recorded time theory more to create a theory that is different to this one.

Lucid Dreaming

The other night I had a dream. This was unlike other dreams I became aware I was dreaming and could walk through doors fly do random acts.

I was walking through what I think was New York. I then felt as if I was floating and I could fly. This seemed very normal but I felt myself ask I can’t normally do this unless I am dreaming. I then felt very invincible I walked through doors and kissed girls and stuff. I then woke up well I thought I did, I heard my dad talking and I went to get up to tell my mate about the dream I had. I walked past my brother on the stairs sneaking his girlfriend into the bathroom and went down stairs. I then heard them leaving the bathroom and I went up to go to the toilet. The bathroom was very different and at first just thought my mother had changed the bathroom around. Thinking about my dream I switched the light on and off. The bulb went bight but the room didn’t light up. I looked away and looked back and the room was lit up. I then realised I was still dreaming. I shortly after this started to feel quite scared and worried I may never wake up. I then however did wake up and had to lie for 5 minutes or so just amazed by the experience.

Given that I had read about lucid dreaming and had watched waking life, it is not surprising that lucid dreaming should be in my mind. This could have caused my mind to dream a dream in which I was aware even though I was not really aware. This however would be very risky for my brain to trick me like this if it does try to prevent this. I was disappointed I had not looked in the mirror, I have always wanted to see what I would look like in the mirror in a dream, and I have heard it can cause great fear as one tends to look disfigured.

I overall did enjoy the dream and I hope for more lucidity in my dreams.

End of first year

All of the exams are finished now. I hope to be able upload a couple of times a week, but I will not upload or write something if I do not have something to write about. Sorry about the lack of updates and I hope that it has not made people bored of the site.

Your Reality

Reality is something that is defined by only you. It is your view of the world. Philip K Dick said "Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away.” The movies like The Matrix show us another reality but that becomes our reality. Again from Phlilp K Dick,

“My first story had to do with a dog who imagined that the garbagemen who came every Friday morning were stealing valuable food which the family had carefully stored away in a safe metal container. Every day, members of the family carried out paper sacks of nice ripe food, stuffed them into the metal container, shut the lid tightly—and when the container was full, these dreadful-looking creatures came and stole everything but the can.
Finally, in the story, the dog begins to imagine that someday the garbagemen will eat the people in the house, as well as stealing their food. Of course, the dog is wrong about this. We all know that garbagemen do not eat people. But the dog's extrapolation was in a sense logical—given the facts at his disposal.” (How to Build a Universe That Doesn't Fall Apart Two Days Later
by Philip K. Dick, 1978)

This is because the reality for the dog is all he knows. Our Knowledge and understanding of the world is our reality. What we read and what we learn changes what we are and our perception on what is reality. A person born without sound can only learn about sound from other people. Their reality is different to ours before they haven’t heard sound just know what others have told them.
Maybe each human being lives in a unique world, a private world, a world different from those inhabited and experienced by all other humans. And that led me wonder, If reality differs from person to person, can we speak of reality singular, or shouldn't we really be talking about plural realities? And if there are plural realities, are some more true (more real) than others? What about the world of a schizophrenic? Maybe, it's as real as our world. Maybe we cannot say that we are in touch with reality and he is not, but should instead say, His reality is so different from ours that he can't explain his to us, and we can't explain ours to him. The problem, then, is that if subjective worlds are experienced too diffrently, there occurs a breakdown of communication... and there is the real illness.” (How to Build a Universe That Doesn't Fall Apart Two Days Later
by Philip K. Dick, 1978)

We should then learn to adapt to their reality and learn from them. If their reality is causing delays and problems for other people should we not teach them the wrongs of their ways by allowing them to adapt to our understanding the understanding that their actions are wrong. The whole of the How to build a Universe that doesn’t fall apart two days later by Philip K. Dick can be found at http://deoxy.org/pkd_how2build.htm Enjoy I sure did.

The road ahead

Life could be viewed as long drive with no pre-set destination, no map or road signs. You are driving all the time with every road that you see as a choice. You don’t know where it will take you but you don’t know where you are going. The one thing you do know is the sights you see are all know. You only know where you have been and not where you are going. You just hope that you see enough sights before you run out of fuel. The path you chose is your choice.

Sorry

I am sorry for not putting anything up for a while. There will be a post tonight. I have had so much coursework to do I have not had time to think up something.
